About Us - Northstar Asphalt

In 1985 Howard Wenger started an asphalt producing & paving company in North Canton, Ohio. Wenger Excavating needed a steady supply of hot asphalt for the commercial and residential work that they did in Stark County and surrounding areas.

The new company, based in the north part of Stark County, was named Northstar Asphalt Inc. Fred Parcher served as vice-president of sales and brought his four sons with him to help teach Northstar the asphalt business. His son Dave Parcher serves as the Vice-President of Field Operations today, continuing the proud heritage of the Parcher family in the Stark County asphalt industry.

Over the years the continuous-flow manufacturing plant has constantly been upgraded to meet both production and air quality standards. New paving and milling machinery has been acquired to provide the best quality pavement in the industry. Northstar Asphalt, Inc. operates as a high capacity hot mix asphalt manufacturer and paving contractor.

As with the other companies it was ultimately the staff of dedicated employees that moved the company forward. From selling and designing asphalt projects, to maintaining and operating the plant, and ultimately installing the asphalt on driveways, state highways, roadways and parking lots, the Northstar Asphalt employees have worked together as a dedicated and dependable team. A major 5 year project was paving six lanes of I-77 from US Rt. 30 to the Akron Canton Airport exit using a full depth replacement design. Whether in the quality control lab at the plant or on the job anywhere in Stark, and surrounding counties. This dedicated team knows what it takes to put down a roadway that will stand the test of time.
